How to care for your next tattoo
Congrats on your new tattoo!
Caring for a new tattoo is crucial for proper healing and maintaining its appearance. By following these steps, you’ll help ensure that your tattoo heals properly and retains its beauty. If you have any specific concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

The first 4 hours
Keep the bandage on for approximately 4 hours (max)
This protects the tattoo from bacteria
Avoid Touching: Don’t touch the tattooed area with dirty hands to prevent infection.
After removing the bandage wash the tattoo/area with clean hands, mild/unscented soap and warm water . Pat dry with paper towel, do not re-bandage
Wash the tattoo before sleeping the same way, as well as every morning.
Use a thin layer of a recommended ointment (like Aquaphor or a tattoo-specific product) for the first few days. Apply it 2-3 times a day if needed.

The first 2 weeks
Switch to Lotion: After 3-5 days, you can switch to a fragrance-free lotion. Keep the tattoo moisturized to prevent dryness and itching.
Don’t Over-Moisturize: A little goes a long way; avoid excessive application.
2-4 Weeks
Avoid Soaking: Stay away from baths, swimming pools, and hot tubs for at least 2 weeks to prevent soaking the tattoo.
Limit Sun Exposure: Keep the tattoo covered or use a high-SPF sunscreen if it’s exposed to sunlight. UV rays can fade the ink.
Avoid Tight Clothing: Wear loose clothing over the tattooed area to prevent irritation and friction.

Healing
Peeling and Itching: It’s normal for the tattoo to peel and itch as it heals. Avoid scratching, as this can damage the tattoo.
Long-Term Care
Moisturize Regularly: Even after healing, keep the area moisturized to maintain color vibrancy.
Sunscreen: Always apply sunscreen on the tattooed area when exposed to sunlight to prevent fading.
